The Calhoun County Trailway

A vision of the Calhoun County Trailway Alliance

About Us

In 2003, the Calhoun County Parks Department created a citizen advisory committee, the Calhoun County Trailway Alliance, to participate in a master planning process for a multi-use non-motorized trailway. In 2006, the Calhoun County Trailway Master Plan was approved by Calhoun County. The Calhoun County Trailway is owned and managed by the Calhoun County Parks Department. The Calhoun County Trailway Alliance, in addition to assisting Calhoun County with its trail master plan, also raises funds to maintain the trail.

In 2015, a 5.6 mile section of trail was constructed. It is called the Calhoun County Trailway. It connects Historic Bridge Park to the Battle Creek Linear Park at Emmett Street.

Other sections of trail are planned, and when completed, the trail will cross Calhoun County, connecting communities and providing residents with a safe place to walk, run, bike, or just spend time in nature.

The Calhoun County Trailway will also connect to other, longer trails including the Great Lake-to-Lake trail, and the Iron Belle Trail.
